Cleft Grafting
1. cut off the limb
2.Insert the budwood
3.Wrap with aluminum foil to keep the heat off
4.Cut a hole in the tip of a poly bag and carefully slip over the budwood.
5.Tie with a twisty, cut a small hole in the poly bag to drain any rain water.
6.Wait for 3 weeks and then remove coverings
7.Cleft graft starting to force about a month later
8.About 3 months later.
Would I try cleft grafting citrus again?
In short NO. I have near 100% success with t-budding and bark grafting so why try a method that worked only 20% or less of the time?
